Szaundra Diedrich is bronze medallist at the European Games U70kg. She won gold at the European Open in Minsk and Sofia in 2017. Diedrich claimed World Junior bronze in 2013 and developed extremely fast. Competes with Laura Vargas Koch. Won the Grand Prix in Tbilisi in 2015. As youngster she won the EYOF in 2009. Club: JC Bushido Köln. 2017 German champion. She took a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Düsseldorf in 2018.

Germany claims the first European mixed title

The team of Germany has taken the first European Mixed title. In the final Germany was too strong for the Netherlands winning by 4-2. The city of Jekaterinburg hosted the first Europeam mixed event at senior level. At Junior and and Cadet level mixed team title were already introduced. The Mixed team events will be introduced at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Read more

Yoko Ono again wins Grand Slam U70kg

Tokyo Grand Slam winner Yoko Ono of Japan won her second Grand Slam title with a resounding triumph over World Judo Masters silver medallist Barbara Matic (CRO). The -70kg category has been a rich means of honours in recent years with Olympic champion Tachimoto Haruka (who has since retired) and world champion Arai Chizuru leading the way in 2016 and 2017. Four winning nations at the International Women Adidas Open of Herstal last weekend with Japan, France and Germany all catching two gold medals and Great Britain won gold via Chelsie Giles U52kg.
