How Fabio Basile won his Olympic judo gold
Italy’s Fabio was not an unknown quantity when he stepped on the judo mat at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He had, after all, won the bronze medal at the European Championships that year. This is how the 2016 Olympic Champions were ranked one year before Games-time
It was not a huge surprise that Lukas Krpalek, Teddy Riner, Tina Trstenjak and Kayla Harrison were crowned as Olympic Champions.
