Judoka Elmar Gasimov won silver at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016. He won world bronze in 2017 in Budapest. Gasimov was #1 at the IJF World Ranking with victories in Tyumen (2014) and Tbilisi and Samsun in 2015. He won over 15 World level medals. Competed at World (5th) and Olympic Games, 7th in 2012. He won the World Masters in 2016 in Guadalajara. Gasimov won two European medals. He won silver at the Grand Slam in Baku in 2017.
