Day 5 of the EYOF summarises the tournament

It was a true race between Italy and Georgia for the 2015 European Youth Olympic Festival overall medal count. On the last day, Georgia gained another title but Italy’s Annalisa Calagreti won the fifth gold medal for Italy, amazingly. Stephan Hegyi gave Austria ecstasy with his gold medal, the first Austrian gold since 1999 by Hilde Drexler. Read more

First ever Georgian gold medals achieved at EYOF

Two titles for the host nation, Georgia, on the third day of the EYOF in Tbilisi. Both gold medals were achieved by two Georgian young women. Who would have thought that this would happen some years ago? Mzia Beboshvili took the gold in U52kg while Eteri Liparteliani grabbed the U57kg title supported by the home crowd. Hasil Jafarov won the title in U73kg for Azerbaijan. Read more

Georgia and Italy cherish young judo heroes

Italy has broken the record of 1991. The Italian team celebrated the sixth medal at the second day of the EYOF in Tbilisi. At the EYOF (in that time European Youth Olympic Days) in 1991 in Brussels Italy won five medals and two titles. The later World level athlete Ylenia Scapin took one of the two titles. Read more

Italy has done some good business at the opening day of the European Youth Olympic Festival. In Tbilisi the Italian team won medals in each category including two titles. Moldova and Azerbaijan claimed the other two titles. In one day equal to the record of 1991. Read more
