Dutch judoka Joanne Van Lieshout claimed the gold medal at the EYOF in Baku in 2019. She was Dutch national champion in various age categories U15 and U18. Her mother is Claudia Moors former Dutch Junior champion and quadruple Dutch championships medallist. Joanne won bronze at the European Cadet Championships in 2018 in Sarajevo and silver with the team in 2018 and bronze in 2019. In 2018 she won gold at the Cadet European Cup in Teplice and Gyor.

Double gold for Dutch girls at EYOF in Baku

The Netherlands was the winning nation at the second day of the European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku. The Dutch girls captured two gold medals and there were two more bronze medals to celebrate. Brazilian cadet Laura Ferreira remains undefeated in Bad Blankenburg

Laura Ferreira (16) picked up her third victory in a row. The cadet from Brazil won the Thuringia Cup in Bad Blankenburg in Germany on Saturday. Competing in the Junior category Ferreira took the victory U44kg and it was her the victory in three weeks in her European Tour. Her March tour started in Zagreb at Cadet level, Coimbra at Junior level and this week in Bad Blankenburg also at senior level. Read more
