German judoka Pauline Starke won the Junior European title in Malaga in 2016. She had won the European Cup for Juniors in Leibnitz in 2016. She took a bronze medal at the 2017 European Cup in Bratislava. With the German Junior Team she won bronze at the World Mixed Teams in 2017 in Zagreb.

Slovenia is of course well known for its success in the women’s divisions for the last five years with two Olympic Champions in London and Rio and bronze for Ana velensek. Silver at the recent World Championships for Tina Trstenjak and of course surprise Mihael Zgank U90kg gave Slovenian judo another boost. Perhaps in the junior division less dominant as before, but still medal chances for some of their youngsters. Read more

Russian juniors capture 8 gold medals in La Coruna

At the European Cup in La Coruna the Russian Juniors showed a good form winning an amazing eight gold medals. Both on Saturday as on Sunday four gold medals were handed out to Russian juniors. Italy and Germany won two gold medals. Read more

German women and Georgian men take European Junior title

As always the team Championships are an amazing event at the last day of most individual championships. The Junior European Championships for team again delivered a great atmosphere and superb team excitement. The final for men was won by Georgia after a thrilling begin of the match including five battles with Azerbaijan. The title for women was convincingly taken by Germany after a 4-1 walkover against the Russian junior women. Read more
