Historic European title for Jovana Pekovic and Montenegro
Finally it was the time for Jovana Pekovic. The super talent from Montenegro captured the European U23 title in Izhevsk. She was the only athlete from Montenegro to make the trip to the Ural in Russia. Always those are personal investment she does for such a long time. Montenegro charges new energy in Sarajevo
The surprising winner of the European Cup in Sarajevo was the team of Montenegro. With three gold medals the re-installed member of the Judo Family was the most impressive nation in Bosnia Herzegovina. On Saturday Jovana Pekovic was on fire taking a gold medal U78kg. Federation of Montenegro in trouble athletes still welcome
The Montenegro Judo Federation does not get any support anymore from either the government, nor the international federations. The IJF suspended the federation with immediate effect which was just a result of the sloppy internal affairs in Montenegro. The Judo Federation was the only federation that didn’t fulfil its duties to report to the government. Read more

European U23 Championships in Podgorica opportunity for new generation
Mattias Casse is the only World Junior Champion who appears at the European U23 Championships in Podgorica. The Belgian world champ is one of the favourites in the category U81kg and the highest seed. As usual a tough category with Anri Egutidze (POR), Fagan Guluzada (AZE), Dominik Druzeta (CRO), Jim Heijman (NED) and Nicklas Bloechl (GER) as medal contenders. Also home player Arso Milic is a well known fighter who won his first European medal in 2012 at the Cadet European Championships in Bar, also in Montenegro, the first major event in this relative young country. Jovana Pekovic shines for Montenegro at European Open Belgrade
Jovana Pekovic was the youngest winner on Sunday at the European Open in Belgrade. The teen from Montenegro was the convincing winner in her category U70kg. It will be the perfect motivation to shine at the World Junior Championships in Zagreb in October and the European U23 Championships in Montenegro in November. Read more
