German judoka Miriam Butkereit won a bronze medal at the European Open in Prague in 2017 and Glasgow in 2018. She was German champion in 2016, German Junior champion in 2014 and Cadet champion in 2010. In 2015 she won the European Cup in Malaga and took silver in Dubrovnik in 2016 and silver in Bratislava in 2015. Miriam captured bronze at the Grand Prix The Hague in 2017 and 2018. She took silver at the Grand Slam in Düsseldorf in 2019 and bronze at the Grand Prix in Antalya.

Elisavet Teltsidou of Greece won her first IJF World Judo Tour final with a major upset over former world number one Maria Portela (BRA) at the Grand Prix of Antalya. Marrakech Grand Prix bronze medallist Teltsidou, who was buoyed from her seventh-place in Tbilisi a week ago, delivered gold for Greece with a sensational hip throw for ippon and her country’s second medal on day two in Turkey. Invincible Sally Conway completes Grand Slam treble

Scottish Olympic bronze medallist Sally Conway won Grand Slam gold for the third time in her career with a rousing display in the U70kg category. Conway defeated The Hague Grand Prix bronze medallist Miriam Butkereit (GER) after taking the contest to the ground and threatening with both osaekomi and the kansetsu-waza and the home judoka was unable to find a route away from the imminent danger. Sally Conway completes Grand Prix hat-trick with silver for the hosts

British judo star Sally Conway won her third Grand Prix gold medal after Hohhot Grand Prix winner and home favourite Sanne Van Dijke (NED) could not participate in the U70kg final after picking up an elbow injury earlier in the semi final. Olympic bronze medallist Conway will now break back into the world’s top 10 and move closer to the Dutch judoka who started the day ranked fifth in the world. Read more

French Margaux Pinot won her first Grand Slam title with victory over The Hague Grand Prix bronze medallist Miriam Butkereit (GER) in the -70kg final.
