Croatian judoka Ana Viktorija Puljiz became European Cadet Champion in 2017 in Kaunas and a bronze medal at the Cadet Europeans in Warsaw in 2019. She won the Cadet African Open Tunis in 2017. She won gold at the Youth Olympic Games team event in 2018 and she claimed a bronze medal at the Youth Olympic Games in 2018. In 2018 she won gold at the Cadet European Cup in Follonica and in Zagreb. In 2019 she won gold at the Cadet European Cup in Zagreb again, gold at the European Cup in Dubrovnik.

Eleven winning nations at the European Cup for Cadets in Zagreb last weekend. The most popular gold was for Ana Viktorija Puljiz of host nation Croatia when she celebrated her victory U48kg. The event though was overshadowed by an incident on Sunday where two judoka had a shocking low level fight. The final of the Team event of the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires delivered a mix of athletes. Almost 800 judoka from 37 nations and lots of coaches attended the European Cup for Cadets in Zagreb. Not far away from home, the Hungarian judoka performed best with three gold medals, followed by the Croatian talents, also capturing three gold medals but no other medals, very efficient though.
