The Romanian women are in a good shape, or the opposition is too weak in Tashkent's. With three athletes engaged during this first day of competition, Romania almost got the perfect score as Corina Caprioriu wins the second gold medal for her delegation in Tashkent, against Camila Minakawa , now for Israel. Easily dominating the fight, the Romanian, won with two waza-ari with 21 seconds left.

Italian 2008 Olympic Champion, Giulia Quintavalle was opposed to Arleta Podolak of Poland in the first bronze medal fight of the category. Being less active than the Polish, Quintavalle was penalized more. Podolak then decided to launch a real first attack with a combination ippon-ko-uchi-gari for yuko, enough to secure her place on the podium. In the second bronze medal contest, the 24-year-old Canadian competitor, Stefanie Tremblay of Canada met Jovana Serbian Rogic, bronze medallist at the Zagreb Grand Prix, in the middle of September and once again, the Serbian athlete wrote her name in the medal table of an IJF world Judo Tour event, taking the bronze medal with a single yuko.
