Leandro Cunha still dreams about Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Double World Vice-Champion, Leandro Cunha still dreams about Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The 33-year old experienced judoka doesn't fight anymore in the U66kg division. World Silver medalist from Tokyo 2010 and Paris 2011 now struggle in the category U73kg, where so far didn't have too much luck. Earlier this year he was 7th in Cuba Grand Prix.
After his lost fight against Pavel Zagrodnik in final, it was the end of his competition in London 2012. Now two year later the dream and will is still here, he wants to represent Carioca's at another Olympics!
"I fight with much taller fighters than me, but I must keep my fight style and be much faster than them" - Cunha said.
Next stop for Cunha will be in Croatia Grand Prix, where he will try to get a medal for the first time in his new weight category.
