Australian judoka Katharina Haecker was born in Germany. She won the Oceanian title three times in a row since 2014 and qualified for the Olympic Games. She won the Oceania Open in 2014. Coached by Alexander Lüdeke and she mainly trains in Germany. She won bronze at the Grand Prix Budapest in 2016. She took a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Tunis in 2018. Heacker trains extensively in Hamburg, Silver at the Agadir Grand Prix in 2018. She clinched silver at the Grand Prix in Marrakech in 2019.

German-born Katharina Haecker, who represents Australia, was the U63kg gold medalist at the 2020 Tel Aviv Grand Prix. This was not only her first ever Grand Prix gold, it’s also the first time any Australian judo player has won any IJF World Tour event. Canada, Australia and Poland withdraw from the Games in 2020

Canada, Australia and Poland will not send athletes to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo because of the risks associated with the coronavirus outbreak, the Olympic committees for both countries said in separate statements.
