Russian judoka Anastasiia Konkina won a European U23 Championships silver medal in 2014 in Wroclaw and in 2015 in Bratislava. She won European Championships bronze in 2018 in Tel Aviv. She won the IJF Grand Prix in Tashkent and the Grand Prix in Qingdao. She won the European Cup in Orenburg in 2015. She won bronze at the European Open in Minsk in 2017. With Yewara Newa she won the Golden League in 2017 in Ankara.

Russia defeats Portugal in nail-biting mixed team final

Russia needed to pull out all stops to win gold against an unfancied Portugal as the judo competition of the Minsk 2019 European Games concluded with the mixed team event. While Russia was the favourite and advanced easily to the final with wins over Turkey, Serbia and Belarus, Portugal came out of nowhere to send France to the repechage and beat the Netherlands in the semi-final.
