German women set junior records at European Cup in Prague

The German junior women proved their strength at the European Cup in Prague. Four category titles were captured by the German women and Falk Petersilka added one in the men’s division to make it five. Azerbaijan showcased strong judo among the men obviously beginning with gold in the lightweights U55kg by Rashkan Bakhishaliyev. Two all Azeri finals in U55 and U60 where Ahmad Yusufov won the title. German talent Falk Petersilka takes World title

Cadet European Cup silver medallist Falk Petersilka of Germany won his first world title as he narrowly defeated Cadet Pan American Cup winner Igor Morishigue (BRA) in the -81kg final. Petersilka received a shido for going out of the area and the Brazilian was penalised shortly afterwards for the same indiscretion. Morishigue was penalised for passivity and that decided the scoreless contest as the Cologne-based German fighter climbed onto the top place on the podium. Read more
