Israelian judoka Peter Paltchik took gold at the Grand Prix in Tbilisi and The Hague in 2018 and captured gold at the Grand Slam Abu Dhabi. He won European Championships bronze in 2018 in Tel Aviv. Paltchik won the Grand Prix in Cancun in 2017. He captured more than 10 World Cup medals starting in 2014 U90kg but all others U100kg. He took a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Paris in 2019. He took bronze at the Grand Slam of Ekaterinburg in 2019. He took bronze at the Grand Prix in Zagreb.

Canadian Shady El Nahas wins first IJF gold medal

Shady El Nahas delivered gold for Canada at the Grand Prix in Zagreb as the youngster went one better than his result at home earlier this month. The 21-year-old Montreal Grand Prix silver medallist, who exploded onto the scene by taking a stunning silver medal at the Osaka Grand Slam last year, has progressed from being a raw talent into being an elite judoka and showed that by overcoming Antalya Grand Prix winner Alexandre Iddir (FRA) in golden score with a juji-gatame.
