Maria Bernabeu, a judo stalwart, claimed World silver in 2015 (Astana) and bronze in 2017 (Budapest). She triumphed at the Grand Prix in Budapest (2016) and Grand Slam in Baku (2016), adding gold in Cancun (2017). Notable European successes include bronze in 2010 (European U23) and 2006 (junior).
