The development of Italian judo is going fast. Not only at senior and junior level but also at cadet level Italy excels, especially in the girls division. At the Cadet European Cup in Follonica Italy claimed six gold medals. With fourteen medals Italy won the medal table. The girls won nine medals and four gold medals. Artsiom Kolasau takes double gold with Olympic Team Event

The final of the Team event of the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires delivered a mix of athletes. The teams were named after the host cities of the Olympic Games, it was the Team Beijing that won the tournament ahead of Team Athens for the silver medals and Team London and Team Rio de Janeiro for the bronze medals. Sarajevo again proud host of Cadet European Championships

This week more than 450 young judoka are expected to fight at the Cadet European Championships in Sarajevo. The Juan Antonio Samaranch Olympic Hall was named in honor of Juan Antonio Samaranch in 2010 after the death of the former IOC President. Italian girls efficient at European Cup in Cluj Napoca

At the European Cup for Cadets in Cluj Napoca in Romanian, Italy was by far the most efficient country with four won finals. Hungary had six final positions but lost three, still won three titles and finished second in the ranking. Host Romania took two gold medals, same for Turkey and Georgia. Read more
