Tashkent is shaping up for the World Championships

The World Championships in Tashkent are warming up and the draw is the first official happening soon. The Humo Ice Dome in Tashkent is now changed to a judo venue for the World Championships from 6th October until the 13th. The first delegations are already training in the venue.
Almost 600 participants and their coaches and delegates will be arriving in the next days, some have yet arrived such as the lightweights, heavier athletes will likely arrive later. In total 82 countries have registered which is the lowest number of this century for individual World Championships. In Munich in 2001 88 countries competed. In Tokyo 2019 before the pandemic 142 countries. The 571 athletes so far registered are the lowest in 13 years. Athletes have to be in the World ranking top 100 this time so the quality will be outstanding.
The Tashkent World Championships Seniors 2022, individuals and mixed teams, is already shaping up to be a great vintage and we are all looking forward to it getting started. Check out all the previews of all weight categories.
