2004 Olympic Champion Zurab Zviadauri of Georgia, is the key person of a bloody murder affair. A few days ago a shooting, possibly caused by a family dispute, led to a tragedy in which Lasha Bekauri's uncle is both victim and accused. The facts took place in the commune of Tsinandali, about a hundred kilometers from Tbilisi. According to several sources, several shots took place: one killed Zviadauri's brother.

The latter, to defend him, would have retaliated, fatally killing his brother's killer. Hospitalized, the 2004 Olympic champion invokes self-defense and is supported by his nephew, the recent Olympic champion in Tokyo in the same category as Zviadauri and by weightlifter, also Olympic champion in Japan, Lasha Talakhadze. Zviadauri was able to attend his brother's funeral but under police escort.

Zviadauri was finalist of the World Championships in 2001 in Munich and 2003 in Osaka but later showed how to take the gold at the highest podium in the world. He was also a former World Junior Champion. Later he became Georgian coach.
