Tbilisi winner Noel van ‘t End of the Netherlands did good business this week in the World Ranking as he jumped from 5 to 2 U90kg this week after his victory. Back to his best ever position where he was during his knee injury last year, but while being injured he lost a few places. Now he seems to be back with 300 new points, which may help him for a good seeding in Rio.

Amiran Papinashvili (GEO) and Sharafuddin Lutfillaev (UZB) swopped places from 7 to 6, U60kg.

Nijat Shikhalizada (AZE) lost points and he went from 7 to 9 U66kg. Vazha Margvelashvili won this category in Tbilisi, he moved from 35 to 19 as highest ranked Georgian.

Tbilisi winner Nugzari Tatalashvili is now ranked 4, he came from 5, he changed places with Akimoto (JPN). Tatalashvili was number 3 until October 2015.

Another winner in Tbilisi, Alan Khubetsov was 10 last week, now he is ranked 8th. There are three Russians in the top 10 U81kg with Khalmurzaev ranked best at place 5, then Khubetsov and Ivan Nifontov this week at 9. But he may be Ezio Gamba’s choice as he is the most complete of the three.

Although Gviniashvili is still in the top 10 U90kg, he is now ranked 39 U100kg. He will need another few miracles to qualify. Perhaps this week in Samsun, but he close to the continental quota places, so it is likely that he can make it to Rio. Martin Pacek (SWE) became the winner in Tbilisi and he goes from 9 to 7 in this heavyweight category.

Roy Meyer (NED) moves a bit from 6 to 5 +100kg, Or Sasson progresses from 17 to 14. Adam Okruashvili drops out of the top 10, but look who’s back: Good old Rafael Silva from Brazil, the former World number one and London’s Olympic bronze medallist. In a few weeks time, he grew to place 9.

In the women’s lightweight category U48kg Taciana Lima (GBS) is back in the top 10 at 7. Monica Ungureanu, the winner in Georgia is back in the top 10 from 13 to 8 this week. Tbilisi winner Odette Giuffrida moved into the top 10 again at rank 9 this time U52kg. She is getting close to her best ever position in September 2014 at 7.

More good news for Brazil where Tbilisi winner Rafaela Silva, is back in the top 10 at 8 U57kg. Austrian Kathrin Unterwurzacher made good progression U63kg from 7 to 4 this week.

Kim Polling secured her leading position U70kg, she leads since May last year. The two Dutch women U78kg didn’t move, Steenhuis at 4, Verkerk despite winning still at 7. Mayra Aguiar of Brazil moved from 6 to 3 this week, but still miles away from leader Harrison. It’s mainly to get into the top 8 as those are seeded for Rio.

In the plus category Konitz and Iaromka lost points and Megumi Tachimoto benefit without fighting at place 6 this week.
