Dutch judoka Marit Kamps is triple Cadet Champion and Junior Champion. She won a bronze medal at the European Cadet Championships in 2017 and silver in 2018 in Sarajevo. She became Dutch Cadet Champion U18 in 2018 and in 2016 and 2017 and junior champion in 2019 and 2020. Marit took bronze at the Junior European Championships in 2019 in Vaantaa. She captured a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in Marrakech in 2019. She claimed a bronze medal at the European Open in Warsaw in 2020.

The Japanese women dominated the World Championships at the last day. In Marrakesh, Asia was the dominating continent inthe +78kg category as Takahashi Ruri of Japan, winner of the St Petersburg Junior European Cup in April, and Kim Hayun (KOR), finalist of the Tashkent Grand Prix last September, qualified for the final.
