Croatian judoka Tihea Topolovec won a silver at the World Cadet Champion in 2015 in Sarajevo. She won a bronze medal at the European Cadet Championships U18 Sofia in 2015. She won bronze at the Junior European Championships in 2016 in Malaga. She won a bronze medal at the European Cup in Belgrade in 2016 and gold in Sarajevo, bronze in 2017. Tihea was World Ranking leader U18, U21 and U23. Tihea Topolovec (CRO) was number 1 of the IJF World Ranking for cadets and juniors U52kg in 2015 and 2017.

Host city of Dubrovnik demands European Cup titles

Italian Francesca Milani was the only athlete who won the European Cup of Dubrovnik twice, in the two previous editions of this European Cup in this beautiful city in Dubrovnik Croatia celebrated six gold medals. Moldova books progress with building new junior team in Ploiesti

The junior judo team of Moldova is on the right track building a new team. The majority of the seniors left to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio and switched to the United Arab Emirates. Sergiu Toma was the successful example of the switch wining bronze U81kg but Moldova needed to build up a team from the start. At the European Cup for Juniors in Ploiesti the team is leading the medal table with two gold medals. Mihail Doncila won gold for men U55kg and Denis Vieru took gold U66kg. Read more

Nemanja Majdov celebrates junior comeback with gold in Lignano

Italy and Slovenia had the most successful juniors at the European Cup in Lignano this weekend. Both countries won three titles at the third European Cup of the season. On Saturday the host nations started well with victories in the men’s lightweight categories. Both talents Andrea Carlino (U55kg) and Manuel Lombardo (U60kg) won gold. On Sunday Nadia Simeoli added the third gold for Italy in the women U63kg division. Read more

Tihea Topolovec captures second European Cup victory

At the first day of the European Cup in Dubrovnik Germany won two gold medals. The other five gold medals were divided among five nations including host Croatia. 17-year old Tihea Topolovec captured a gold medal in the category U52kg against Nieke Nordmeyer (GER). It was her second victory in a row as 17-year old Croatian also took the victory in Sarajevo two weeks ago. Read more

Teenagers Tihea Topolovec and Bilal Ciloglu win in Sarajevo

Akos Bartha of Hungary won the gold medal in the category U60kg. It was his first European Cup victory. He lost the final in 2015 in Sindelfingen, now he won in Sarajevo. Victor Leboedec lost the final this time, he was the winner in Bratislava last year. Turkish Bilal Ciloglu captured gold in the final U66kg after he defeated Denis Jurakic of Serbia in a field of 25 athletes. Ciloglu is just 17 years young. He was European Cadet Champion U18 in 2015 and Turkish senior champion in 2016. Read more
