Judoka Yahor Varapayeu of Belarus seized gold at the Grand Slam Qazaqstan Barysy in 2024. He won gold at the European Open in Minsk in 2017. He captured bronze at the Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2017. He took bronze at the World and European Junior Championships with his team in 2015. In 2017 he finished fifth at the European senior Championships. Yahor was the runner-up at the European U23 Championships U90kg in 2016 and 2017. Yahor won the European Open in Prague in 2018. He took a silver medal at the Grand Slam in Ekaterinburg in 2018. He triumphed at the Asian Open in Bishkek in 2023.
