Tamazi Kirakozashvili won gold at the Grand Prix in Tbilisi in 2018. He won a silver medal at the European Youth Festival - EYOF in Utrecht in 2013 U73kg and bronze in 2011 in Trabzon. He won silver at the World Cadet Championships in Miami in 2013 and silver at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing in 2014. He became European Junior Champion 2015. He is double Georgian champion.

Another good day for the Asian judoka at the World Junior Championships. At the second day Japan added two world titles, making four, and Korea also doubled the figures with Kang Heon-Cheol who won the men’s U73kg category. Kang conquers opposition for second Korean gold

Kang Heoncheol starred for South Korea on day two as he won his team’s second gold medal in Abu Dhabi. Georgian Tamazi Kirakozashvili had shone for Georgia in the preliminary rounds but yet when it came to the final he ran out of steam and Kang prevailed. Kirakozashvili was penalised three times which was two more than his opponent and he was inconsolable after the awarding ceremony. Judo’s legendary Yamashita Yasuhiro saw this and made a beeline for him to lift his spirits and say how he has no doubts that the Georgian will move on to a bigger stage in the future. Read more
