Slovenian judoka Klara Apotekar opened 2019 with a victory at the Grand Prix in Tel Aviv. She captured European Games gold in Minsk. Klara won the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi in 2019. She became European Junior champion in 2017 in Maribor. She won silver at the 2015 World Junior Championships and she took silver at the Grand Slam in Tyumen in 2016. Half-sister of Ana Velensek. She took various medals in the IJF World Tour such as bronze at the Grand Slam in Düsseldorf in 2018 and 2019.
