Imad Bassou of Morocco won various African Championships medals as senior and junior where he won the title in 2011 U55kg. In 2015 he won bronze at the African Championships U66kg followed by the African title in 2016 in Tunis. He won silver at the African Open in Tunis in 2017. He took silver at the African Championships in Cape Town in 2019.
