Karamat Huseynov of Azerbaijan claimed a silver medal at the World Junior Championships in Zagreb in 2017. He won a silver medal at the EYOF in Tbilisi in 2015. He became European Junior champion in 2017 in Maribor. He took a bronze medal at European U23 Championships in 2017 held in Podgorica. He took a bronze medal in 2018 in Saarbrücken. He took silver at the European Cup in Orenburg in 2018. He finished fifth at the 2018 World Championships in Baku.

Taigo Sugimoto stays undefeated for Japan in final against Huseynov

The largest weight category on day one of the World Junior Championships, with a whopping 47 judoka, saw Japan come to the fore as 19-year-old All Japan Junior Championships winner Sugimoto Taigo was the source of his country’s second world title. Sugimoto rose to the occasion in his first IJF event as he defeated 19-year-old Junior European Championships winner Karamat Huseynov (AZE) after 30 seconds of golden score. Read more
