Paralympic judoka Dmytro Solovey of the Ukraine won gold at the Paralympic Games London in 2012 U73kgand took a silver medal at the Paralympic Games in Rio2016. He won judo bronze at the 2014 IBSA World Championships in Colorado, USA. In 2015 he won silver at the IBSA European Championships in Lisbon. In 2015 he won the IBSA World Games in Seoul. He won bronze at the IBSA World Cup Eger (HUN) in 2015. IBSA World Ranking leader U73kg 2016, first seeded at the Paralympic Games in Rio.

The Ukrainian judokas are the ones to beat when the second day of the Rio 2016 judo competition gets underway. The first of Ukraine’s gold medal hopes to fight will be Dmytro Solovey in the men’s up to 73 kg category who reached the final. Current world champion Solovey won gold at London 2012 and is looking to add another to his collection in Rio. Read more
