Welsh judoka Jamie MacDonald competed at the CommonWealth Games in 2014. In 2015 he was diagnosed in 2015 and passed away in November 2017. He inspired many people to deal with cancer and fight it fight and had the pleasure to speak to a lot of sportsmen, “the perks of the condition” he called the small advantages. As judoka he won various international medals in the British region. He won a senior Welsh championship medal at his 18th.

Welsh judo player Jamie MacDonald - who competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow - has died at the age of 26. MacDonald had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in early 2015. Jamie’s mother reacted on his blog: “Sadly Jamie lost the biggest fight of his life this afternoon. He died at home, peacefully and in no pain. Jamie is 26 years old, his 27th birthday will be in a week. Xx Jamie's mum.” Read more
