Lukas Krpalek became Olympic Champion in 2016 in Rio. Krpalek became World Champion in 2019 +100kg and 2014 fighting U100kg and double European Champion in 2013 and 2014 U100kg. He won the European senior title in 2018 in Tel Aviv. He took bronze at the European Championships in Warsaw in 2017. He was double Junior World Champion. Krpalek was 7th at the Olympic Games in London. He captured more than 30 World Cup medals including 13 victories. Coached by Petr Lacina.

Olympic heavyweight champion Teddy Riner made light work of former world silver medallist David Moura (BRA) in the last contest at the first edition of the Brasilia Grand Slam. Riner moved to 4-0 against Brazil’s man-mountain as he rushed past the home hope in 20 seconds by ippon from an o-soto-makikomi. Read more

Lukas Krpálek is at his best these days and became the world champion in Tokyo. It was the ultimate highlight this year for him but he has already experienced some career highlights. The Czech Olympic Champion will perhaps face Teddy Riner again in Brasilia at the Grand Slam but this time as a world champion.
