Polish Daria Pogorzelec won European Championships medals in each age category.She was 7th at the Olympic Games in London with great judo. She won World Military bronze in 2013. Pogorzelec won World Cups in Tallinn in 2010 and 2014 in Tallinn and Tashkent. Is getting closer to World level. In 2018 she took a bronze medal at the European Open in Warsaw. She claimed a bronze medal at the 2018 Grand Prix in Cancun.

Michaela Polleres completes Austrian double on day two

Michaela Polleres defeated Warsaw European Open bronze medallist Gabriella Willems (BEL) to win her first IJF World Judo Tour title in Mexico. Austria won U63kg and U70kg gold as both of the women’s weight categories contested on the second day belonged to the in-form European nation. Read more

Polish women eager to win first gold at European Open Warsaw

For the seventh time only the women travel to Warsaw for the Polish Open, now the European Open. The former A-tournament has a long history and the women are welcomed in Warsaw separately since 2004. Brazil and Russia shine at CISM Military Games

Brazil has become the winner of the World Military Games, CISM in Mungyeong in Korea. The Brazilian team captured five gold medals, three silver and three bronze. The Russian judoka were able to take four titles in the individual tournament. Korea (2), China and Algeria, both one title divided the gold medals. Read more

Japan women take the team world title

The Japanese women have won the world title for teams. In the final the Japanese dominated the team of Poland. For Poland the best ever performance and a miracle to get that far. The Japanese women however were much too strong. The Japanese won by 5-0, although Katarzyna Klys gave a good match and kept the match at 0-0 but with one penalty behind against Chizuru Arai. Daria Pogorzelec couldn’t hold Kanae Yamabe and lost the last match in 25 seconds, 5-0 to Japan. The final team consisted of Misato Nakamura, Anzu Yamamoto who hadn’t competed in the individual tournament U57kg, Miku Tashiro U63 and Arai and Yamabe as last two weight categories. Read more
