In the Ukraine three judoka were nominated at a special ceremony in the Ukraine’s sport industry. Her parents, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Genadiy Bilodid, won the award for best coach of the year. Daria Bilodid grabs unique double European title in one year

Daria Bilodid of the Ukraine became the first judoka who won both the Junior European title as well as the Cadet European title in one year. The tall Ukrainian talent is just 15 years young and one of the youngest European Junior Champions. Out of 56 champions who won both titles in one year. In the final U48kg in Malaga Bilodid defeated Daria Pichkaleva of Russia. Read more

The second day of the European Championships featured four reigning Olympic Champions and a partisan French crowd that did its utmost to sway the referees at every possible turn. But at the end of the day, it was another Belgian who stole the show as Gella Vandecaveye equalled the feats of her compatriot the previous day. Vandecaveye claimed her seventh European title, her sixth in a row, matching the record of Ulla Werbrouck, although she still has a few more championships to contest before she reaches 13 medals.
