Luise Malzahn belongs to the world class athletes U78kg and was in a heavy battle for a ticket to the Olympic Games. The World bronze medallist of 2015 is used to competition in her category and she finished fifth at the Games in Rio. Kayla Harrison dominated the last two Olympics and in this Olympic cycle the competition was severe. Linda Bolder completely back at world level with Israelian gold in Samsun

Linda Bolder celebrated her comeback with her first gold medal since December 2013. After her knee injury she is back in the Olympic qualification, but now for Israel. With no surprise, top seeded athlete and two-time world champion, Yuri ALVEAR (COL), entered the final of the women’s -70kg category. Competing now for Israel, Linda BOLDER joined the Colombian hero to determine who would top the podium on the occasion of the second day of competition in Samsun. Read more

Linda Bolder announces switch to Israel to reach Olympic goal

Dutch judoka Linda Bolder fighting U70kg, officially announced that she will compete for Israel from 1st of January. For the 2016 Olympic Games only one spot is available, and Bolder wants to build up her road to Rio, starting in Israel. Read more

Daiki Kamikawa remains capable to take World level gold

Former world champion Kamikawa Daiki defeated 2013 world bronze medallist Faicel Jaballah to win Japan’s sixth gold medal in the final contest of the Judo Grand Prix, Dusseldorf 2014. Kamikawa succeeded where his teammate Harasawa had failed as he forced the action and Jaballah was unwilling to go toe-to-toe which saw him accumulate four shido penalties which was two more than his rival. Megumi Tachimoto prevents German gold on home soil

National German champion Franziska Konitz was the last surviving German heavyweight as she lost out to three-time world bronze medallist Tachimoto Megumi in the +78kg final. Tachimoto scored a yuko with a harai-makikomi after two minutes and trapped her opponent to the tatami with a kuzure-kesa-gatame for ippon. Read more
