Eduardo Yudi Santos of Brazil became the winner of the Olympic test event in Brazil U81kg. At the second day he was supported by some special fans in the stands of the Arena Carioca 1, where the competition took place. The 22 judokas from the main Brazilian selection watched the test event from the stands and saw a few Brazilian medallists. Read more

Japanese athletes win test Olympic titles in Rio

At the first day of the AQUECE Test Event in Rio de Janeiro two categories were engaged: women’s U52kg and men’s U66kg with both Japanese winners. In the Carioca Arena some foreign teams were invited to compete with Brazilian talents. Some of the athletes usually even fight U60kg, but for this test event, the level isn’t as high as they are used to be, for others it’s a good opportunity to fight against international athletes in the Olympic venue with the complete environment and official protocols. On Tuesday and Wednesday Rio is testing the Judo Games. AQUECE test event' is the name given to all the test events organised in the run-up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Each sport included in the Olympic program organise a test event. The beautiful Carioca Arena of the Olympic Park host the 20 delegations (five foreign - France, Great Britain, Germany, Japan and Lebanon - and 15 Brazilian delegations), counting 105 athletes in four weight classes, have gathered in Rio.
