Some interesting results of the German Senior Championships on Saturday in Bonn. Biggest final was of ‘home’fighter Karl-Richard Frey who defeated Dino Pfeiffer. Last year Dimitri Peters was ‘Meister’ last year but he didn’t compete. Before him Dino Pfeiffer was the triple champion. Frey is now the successor as German Champion and he is in a battle with Dimi Peters for a ticket for Rio. Frey celebrated the title with many fans of his club.

Another interesting battle was a match between Laura Vargas-Koch and Luise Malzahn under 78kg. Vargas-Koch stepped up one weight category for this occasion but it was Malzahn who chased up Vargas-Koch with a maki-komi and scored the first wazari of two in total. A takeover was enough to take the ninth title for the sisters Malzahn. Luise collected four of them. Good second place for Vargas-Koch and bronze for Tillmans and Anna-Maria Wagner who defeated Bandel.

Thomas Pille was the surprise in the plus category as Andre Breitbarth made one mistake by grabbing the pants of Pille very shortly and he knew immediately.

Two Abensberg judoka won the title U60 and U66kg. Philip Graf claimed the title U60kg and Sebastian Seidl U66, he won his third title, Graf won his second.

Katharina Menz continued last year's success U48kg. Romy Tarangul won her second national title today, six years after her first. It's interesting to see that six different judoka won the title in between this period. Mareen Kraeh didn't compete.

Carolin Weiss concluded the women's division with gold. She was finally able to defeat Franziska Konitz who was about to take a record of 9 titles, same number as Berlin coach Frank Moeller, but she medalled with silver today.
