Austria's national judo team will have to cope with a prominent departure at the end of the year. National coach Robert Krawczyk (POL), European champion and third in the World Championships during his active time as well as a two-time Olympic participant (5th in Athens 2004, 7th in Beijing 2008), will not extend his contract, which expires at the end of December, for personal reasons.

The 46-year-old Polish coach has been the Austria's national coach together with head coach Yvonne Snir-Bönisch's team since May 2022 and has been involved in two World and European Championships on the World Tour, at the Olympic Games in Paris. "Robert played a very large part in the positive development of the young guard," explains Austrian sports director Markus Moser. "We would like to thank Robert for his constructive and efficient work and wish him every success in his future role."

In his period before Austria, Krawczyk was coach in Belgium.
