Kosei Inoue, renowned judoka and instructor, embarked on a transformative journey across Europe, sharing his expertise in a series of judo clinics held in Nice and Reims (France), Lommel (Belgium), and Cologne (Germany). Sponsored by Mizuno, the clinics attracted around 300 enthusiastic participants at each location, mostly adults eager to deepen their judo knowledge and skills.

Throughout the sessions, Inoue focused on techniques he perfected during his competitive career, notably the uchi-mata (inner-thigh throw), while also emphasizing the importance of maintaining the right mindset. Despite time constraints, participants eagerly absorbed his teachings, reflecting a vibrant judo culture deeply embedded in European society.

Of particular note was the presence of older individuals adorned in colored belts, signifying their commitment to judo as a lifelong pursuit. This phenomenon underscored the prevalence of lifelong sports participation in Europe, contrasting with the fewer numbers in Japan. Inoue found this cultural difference inspiring, highlighting the valuable lessons that judo practitioners worldwide can learn from Europe's approach to sports.

As an instructor, Inoue found himself learning alongside his students, appreciating the diverse cultures and customs of each country visited. Despite the differences, judo served as a unifying force, bringing people together and reaffirming the transformative power of sports.

Inoue's journey across Europe not only enriched the participants' judo journeys but also provided valuable insights into the universal appeal and impact of the sport on individuals and communities alike.
