Following the second selection phase for Paris 2024, three new judokas have joined the French men's team that will participate in the Olympic Games in five months. Joan-Benjamin Gaba in U73kg, Maxime-Gaël NGayap Hambou in U90kg, and Aurélien Diesse in U100kg have been selected. The representative for the U78kg category will be determined in the next and final selection phase.

During a press conference attended by the officials of the French judo teams and the selected athletes, Frédérique Jossinet, vice-president in charge of high-level sports and performance, announced the three fighters added to the French men's team for Paris 2024. Daikii Bouba (U66kg) and Alexis Mathieu (U90kg) are named as reserves, joining Romain Valadier-Picard (U60kg) who was nominated in the previous selection phase. The final reserves will be announced later.

Bastien Puget then presented the preparation program for the French teams for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Frédérique Jossinet, vice-president in charge of high-level sports and performance, said: "The selection committee met on Tuesday at the federation. It is never an easy exercise. We have shown rigor and have taken into account many elements. With this new selection, the French men's team is complete for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. For the U78kg category, the selection of the athlete will be subject to a new selection committee."

Baptiste Leroy, head of the French men's team, added: "Our team is complete, and we will now focus on making it as competitive as possible for the Paris 2024 Games."

Christophe Massina, head of the French women's team, explained the selection process for the U78kg category, where two athletes have identical statistics. A new selection committee will determine the selection based on two separate competitions in which the two athletes will compete individually.
