Grand Slam winner Ryuju Nagayama of Japan surged to the top spot of the IJF World Ranking, exhibiting remarkable victory over Naohisa Takato. Spain's former number one Francisco Garrigós is now in second place, while Ha-Rim Lee from Korea maintained a solid presence in the top three. Five time Grand Slam winner in Tokyo Takato is not even in the world ranking top ten, but wouldn’t worry and showed his respect for Nagayama.

Tokyo winner U73kg, Hidayet Heydarov from Azerbaijan continued to dominate, securing his commanding position. Uzbekistan's Murodjon Yuldoshev claimed the second spot, with Soichi Hashimoto from Japan rounding up the top three, same like last week but more points for Heydarov.

Denis Vieru of Moldova retained his lead U66kg with consistency. Baskhuu Yondonperenlei representing Mongolia now secured the second position, the same position as he ranked in Tokyo after his loss against the Olympic Champion Hifuni Abe. Vazha Margvelashvili (GEO) holds the third-place in the ranking.

No changes U81kg without Georgia's Tato Grigalashvili in Tokyo but he is strong enough to hold of Matthias Casse who took silver in Japan. Tokyo winner Joonhwan Lee is now in the ranking top 3, and kicked out Brazilian Schimidt out of the top 3.

Luka Maisuradze from Georgia held onto his lead although Japan's Sanshiro Murao is now second, last week third. He swops with Lasha Bekauri of Georgia.

Ilia Sulamanidze is still leading in the U100kg but in Japan it was Matvey Kanikovskiy who won for AIN. He is now the highest ranked of his country at seven.

Temur Rakhimov (TJK) is still leading in the heavyweight division, no changes after the Tokyo Grand Slam won by Bashaev. His countryman Tasoev is still second.

After 25 December there will be another release of the World Ranking with the decreased points of the IJF Masters in Tel Aviv of last year.
