Tsend-Ayush Tserennadmid repeats victory in Ullaanbaatar

Tsend-Ayush Tserennadmid (MGL) defeated Junior world champion Minei Miho (JPN) to match her 2013 Ulaanbaatar Grand Prix victory by a waza-ari which was the only score of the contest. Tsend-Ayush Tserennadmid added another gold medal to the success of the Mongolian team.

In the first semi-final MINEI defeated Kathrin UNTERWURZACHER (AUT) by ippon at the halfway point while in the second semi-final TSEND-AYUSH sealed her spot in the final with a win against 17-year-old HAN Hee Ju (KOR) by a waza-ari.

 

The first bronze medal was won by HAN as a potential star was identified in Ulaanbaatar as the vastly more experienced Hilde DREXLER (AUT) was undone by the teenage prodigy. The second bronze medal was claimed by beaten semi-finalist UNTERWURZACHER who defeated Budapest Grand Prix bronze medallist Anna BERNHOLM (SWE) by a yuko.
