Teddy Riner will be fighting at the Grand Slam in Paris. The Triple Olympic champion is currently in Kazakhstan for a training camp as he is targeting to be fully fit during the home Olympic Games in Paris next year. Recently Riner also trained in the Netherlands at the Papendal Training centre and did return to training at the end of 2022 in Japan.

The world’s most successful athlete suffered an ankle injury last year, after which he decided not to participate at the World Judo Championships in Tashkent.

The Kazakhstan Judo Federation invited the judoka for a visit until 19 January.

"Since last year, the Frenchman Stéphane Traineau, former director of the French judo teams, world champion and Olympic medallist himself, trains the Kazakh national judo team to prepare for the next Olympic Games, which will take place in Paris from 26th July to 11th August 2024."

The Grand Slam in Paris is scheduled to be held from February 4 to 5. The 33-year-old has seven IJF Grand Slam titles, with the latest coming in July 2022 in Budapest. He won five Grand Slam titles in the French capital.
