Alain Schmitt appointed national coach of Bulgaria
Judo coach Alain Schmitt will become headcoach of the Bulgarian male and female selections. The Israeli selection cancelled the job offer after the case of domestic violence which opposed Schmitt to Margaux Pinot.
Alain Schmitt was accused at the end of last November of domestic violence by his partner Margaux Pinot. Schmitt had been released by the Bobigny criminal court. This case, which had caused a stir, had cost him his contract with the Israeli national team, which had not followed up, when he should have flown to Jerusalem the day after the dispute, on the night of 27 to November 28.
After several months of waiting, Bulgaria will be the federation hiring Alain Schmitt (38). he reached an agreement with the Bulgarian federation to train the two selections, male and female, his lawyer announced to Le Parisien: "While Madame Margaux Pinot tried to pass herself off as a victim and spread in the press while trying to discredit the court decision which had acquitted my client Alain Schmitt, the latter has just signed a contract on Monday with the Bulgarian team, which appoints him coach of the national judo team."
