Israeli men's team back in quarantine

The Israeli national men’s Judo team will begin a 14-day quarantine period after one of its members was reported to have tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday night. The number of patients reported to have the virus increased by roughly 1,000 on Tuesday as the nation faces a second wave of coronavirus.

Israel, France and Russia celebrate gold medals

The French women remain the strongest in Europe. With five gold medals at the European Championships in Prague the French dominated the tournament. On Saturday Madeleine Malonga and Romane Dicko captured the European title. For men it was Russia that met the expectations with two extra gold medals on the closing day in Prague. Mikhail Igolnikov and heavyweight Tamerlan Bashaev claimed the gold and with two silver medals, Russia was truly strong. Only Israels Peter Paltchik could escape the Russian takeover. Read more

An Ba-Ul, Peter Paltchik and Romane Dicko started their World Tour well in 2020. Their perhaps greatest year was interrupted by the coronavirus that totally messed up the society and sports. World number six Peter Paltchik of Israel narrowly defeated Olympic silver medallist Varlam Liparteliani (GEO) in a closely contested U100kg final. The Georgian star, who had his family in the crowd waving their country’s unmistakable flag, came up just short in his quest to win the Paris major for a fourth time as he was penalised for diving after being unsuccessful with an uchi-mata attack to hand the title to Israel’s Paltchik.
