Kim Jae Bum defeated in Kuweit by Keita Nagashima
The Asian Championships in Kuwait didn't go well for the Olympic Champion Jae-Bum Kim of Korea. The Olympic U81kg star won this event eight times previously, but not this year, one extra shido on his back against Nagashima decided new champion in the final of the under 81 kilo category.
Japanese took the title from Kim after five-minute of tight fight, Kim Jae-Bum who ruled in Asia for a long time. Now in his career he will need to add his first silver medal ever at the Asian Championships. Keita Nagashima beat on his road to final Prabath Gunadasa of Sri Lanka, while in second round during golden score he won with an ippon against promising Saeid Mollaei of Iran who took the bronze at the end of the day against Yakhyo Imamov of Uzbekistan. Keita won his semi-final against Uuganbaatar Otgonbaatar from Mongolia.
In U66kg category Asian title was captured byTomofumi Takajo of Japan who was better than Baul An of South Korea. Tumurkhuleg Davaadorj won in bronze medal match against Rishod Sobirov of Uzbekistan.
2013 U48kg World Champion Urantsetseg Munkhbat (MGL) lost final match against 2010 Tokyo and 2011 Paris World Champion Haruna Asami of Japan, who is trying to back in her past shape.
Japan ended the tournament at the first place with four gold medals, followed by South Korea and Mongolia. The Asian Judo Championships attracted 210 judokas from 31 countries.
