The French girls won the European Team title for cadets. The French qualified rather easily for the final after defeating Greece, Austria and The Netherlands. The final contest was tougher against Serbia. After four contests the score board was still equal 2-2. This meant that the decision making contest was between Romane Dicko (FRA) and Anja Obradovic (SRB).

It was a battle of two current Cadet European Champion. Dicko won the +70kg whilst Obradovic won the U63kg category, quite a difference. Dicko left no opportunity for the Serbian, and she first scored a yuko which was shortly followed by an ippon. French Cadet Coach, 2012 Olympic Champion  Lucie Decosse, expressed her feelings after the final: “We have a really strong team. We won bronze last year so we knew we are capable of winning this year. The unique factor of this team is that they are friends on and off the tatami. Romane Dicko is the team captain for the cadets and she is doing a terrific job to keep such a high spirited team together. In France the team spirit is very important regardless of the age group” shesaid to the EJU reporters.
