In 2015 Paralympic judoka Nikolai Kornhass of Germany took bronze at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio. He won bronze at the IBSA European Championships in Lisbon. Nikolai won the Visiual Impaired Grand Prix in Birmingham in 2016. He won the Visual Impaired German Open in Heidelberg in 2016 and 2017. He won the IBSA European silver medal in Walsall in 2017. He won the IBSA European title in Genoa in 2019. He clinched the bronze medal at the IBSA Judo Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2019. He clinched a bronze medal at the IBSA Grand Prix in Nur-Sultan in 2022.
