Japanese judoka Akira Sone is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Champion. She is the 2023 and 2019 World Champion. She became Junior World Champion in Zagreb in 2017. She claimed the World Cadet title in Sarajevo in 2015. She claimed the victory at the Grand Slam in Tokyo in 2022.Sone won the World Junior Mixed Team Championships in Zagreb. Sone won the World Masters in 2018 in Guangzhou and Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2019. World Mixed team gold in Tokyo in 2019. She won the Grand Slam in Tashkent in 2021. She won bronze at the IJF Masters in Jerusalem 2022. Earned bronze at the Grand Slam Astana in 2024.
