Wakaba Tomita of Japan won the World Junior title +78kg in Abu Dhabi in 2015. She claimed a bronze medal at the World Championships in Tashkent in 2022. She took gold at the Grand Prix in Budapest in 2019. The Japanese heavyweight also won the World team title with Japan in 2015. She won silver at the European Open in Sofia in 2017. Wakaba Tomita (JPN) was number 1 of the IJF World Ranking for juniors O78kg in 2016. She won the All Japan Judo title for women in 2020. She started 2022 well with gold at the Grand Slam in Paris in 2022. She took gold at the Grand Slam in Ulaanbaatar in 2023.
