Hussain Shah Shah of Pakistan won bronze at the Asian Championships in 2013 and 2015. At the Commonwealth Games he won silver U100kg which was unique for his country Pakistan. He competed at various World Championships since 2010. Shah is Japan based. Shah Hussain Shah is the son of Pakistan Pride, Hussain Shah, an Olympic bronze medalist in boxing. He had already qualified for Rio 2016, becoming the first ever Pakistani Judoka to go to the Olympics and is now trying to qualify for Tokyo 2020.

Hussain Shah debutes in Paris for Pakistan

Rio 2016 Olympian Hussain Shah Shah of Pakistan made his IJF World Judo Tour debut a decade ago at the Worlds in Tokyo. His is one of the rare debutants in the IJF World Judo Tour who will be out in force in Paris who could catch the eye this weekend. Shah, 26, who is ranked number 47 in the world, lives in Tokyo and has travelled all over the world to fight to put Pakistan on the map in judo but he’s never fought at the Paris Grand Slam. Cho Gu-Ham wins third Grand Slam

Former world champion Cho Guham of Korea defeated Tashkent Grand Prix silver medallist Zelym Kotsoiev (AZE) to win his country’s second gold medal on the final day of competition in Abu Dhabi. Cho outworked the 21-year-old Azeri for a narrow win after Kotsoiev was handed his third shido for passivity which was loudly backed by the crowd. Read more
