Japanese judoka Shoichiro Mukai lost the World Championships final U90kg and won the World Junior Team title with Japan in Abu Dhabi in 2015. He won bronze at the Grand Slam in Tokyo in 2017. Mukai won the Grand Slam of Paris. He captured gold at the Grand Slam in Osaka in 2018. He took a bronze medal at the Grand Slam Düsseldorf in 2020. World Mixed team gold in Tokyo in 2019.
